In 2018, a small but determined team of seven members from the Milton Keynes Taekwondo Club travelled to Belgium to compete in the Belgium Open Poomsae Championships. 🌟

With over 400 competitors from 13 countries, the event was filled with exceptional talent and high level competition. Our team rose to the challenge and proudly returned with two gold medals and one bronze medal.

Standout Performances

Steve Busby set a strong start for the team by winning gold in his category.
Constantino Cesar, head coach, represented the club with dedication, reaching the semi-final round in his division.
Claire Waite impressed with an outstanding performance, securing gold in her category.
After a long day of competition, Alison Ellerton achieved a bronze medal, adding to the team’s success.
Meanwhile, Sebastian Walczyk, Matthew Stone, and Kieran Busby all performed admirably in their large, highly competitive categories. Though they narrowly missed the finals, they demonstrated skill, perseverance, and the true spirit of martial arts.

A Team Effort

Beyond the medals, this tournament highlighted the dedication and teamwork of the entire squad. Every member supported one another, showcasing the values of discipline, respect, and perseverance that are at the heart of Taekwondo.

The Belgium Open was not only a competition but also a proud milestone for the club a reminder of how far determination and hard work can take you.

And as always, we move forward with our motto:

Live, Love, Laugh, and Learn.

Regards
Master Cesar & Star Martial Arts Team
