Every taekwondo class is a fun-filled workout! Teenagers are smart and capable…but they can also be their own worst enemies. Between peer pressure, their innate urge to rebel against their parents and their surging hormones, they can be…challenging… to be around. But all they need is an outlet for their frustrations and an opportunity to learn how to be their best selves! Star Martial Arts Taekwondo classes give your teen that much needed outlet and a whole new social scene!

WHAT TO EXPECT IN OUR
45 MINUTE TAEKWONDO CLASSES

Our classes are designed to provide a dynamic and comprehensive training experience. We follow a structured weekly cycle to ensure that students develop a well-rounded skill set in Taekwondo. Here’s a general overview of what you can expect during each class:

WARM UP
(5-10 mins)

Each class begins with a warm-up session that includes stretching, light cardio, and basic exercises. This prepares your body for the training ahead and helps prevent injuries.

FUNDAMENTALS & TECHNIQUES
(10-15 mins)

We will practice the basics, such as stances, hand techniques, and kicking combinations. These foundational skills are essential for building a strong base, regardless of your experience level.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT & DRILLS
(10 – 15 mins)

Students work on specific techniques with a partner or using training equipment like pads. The focus is on improving precision, power, and control in your movements.

SPARRING & COMBINATIONS
(5 – 10 mins)

Depending on the focus of the week, we may include light sparring, one-step sparring, or practicing fighting combinations. This is an opportunity to apply your techniques in a controlled, semi-competitive setting.

COOL DOWN & STRETCHING
(5 mins)

We conclude with a cool-down period that includes stretching and breathing exercises. This helps with muscle recovery and reduces the likelihood of post-training soreness.

REFLECTION & SUMMARY
(2 – 3 mins)

At the end of each class, we provide a brief summary of the key lessons learned. This is also a time to discuss our monthly life skill focus, such as discipline, respect, or perseverance.

OUR 10 WEEK TRAINING CYCLE

Our classes rotate through a 10-week cycle, each week focusing on different aspects of Taekwondo, from basic techniques and forms to advanced sparring, board breaking, and fitness. This variety ensures that students of all levels continuously develop their skills and stay motivated.

Pre-Grading Preparation

At the end of each cycle, we conduct a pre-grading session, allowing students to showcase what they’ve learned and receive valuable feedback before their official grading.
